A call to action. A cry for help. An opportunity for you to realize your power to give strength to someone affected by a blood cancer (Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma). Get involved. Make someone stronger.
Team Make Me Stronger is one year old this month. We came together as a group of individuals wanting to celebrate the actions that make people stronger, and aspire to inspire other people to take actions within their control to give momentum to this movement for strength.
This month some members of Team Make Me Stronger signed up to Run/Walk the New York City Half-Marathon on March 16th, 2014 as Members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training program with one common goal to honor and benefit all individuals battling blood cancers.
Some of us are experienced runners and some of us are doing an endurance event for the first time. But we joined together because our belief in our cause makes us STRONGER and your support in our cause gives us that strength.
We will help raise funds to find cures and more effective treatment for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. As a team, we can accomplish great things towards cures for blood cancers.
Team Make Me Stronger will also continue to work towards increasing education and awareness about the Bone Marrow Registration and Donation process so we can help give the gift of life to an individual.
There are patients who are waiting for a match and don’t know if they’ll find one.
There are patients who have found a match, but their donor has declined to move forward.
We choose to give hope to these patients and their families by raising awareness. We choose to believe that “When nothing is certain, anything is possible.”
