My Husband’s Resolve (#makingadifference)
My name is Trupti.
A few months prior to our wedding in 2010, my husband’s sister began experiencing health concerns that, unfortunately, led to a diagnosis for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) in May 2011.
The diagnosis was everything we had hoped it would not be.
We were challenged. We were looking for solutions. We were hopeful. The important thing is that we were “we” and together through various bumps and stumbles, we relied on each other in new ways that we never had or needed to before.
We pushed forward.
My husband committed to taking on new meaning for the roles and responsibilities of many – husband, son, brother, friend and supporter. He maintains strength, resolve and a positive attitude in all of these relationships. He is the bridge and connector for all things within and outside of his family. He has done, does and will continue to do more than hundreds of people would be able to do in a lifetime. He truly strives to be everything he can for everyone that needs him.
And I try to be there for him in even half the way that he is there for everyone else.
Through this unique blog, my husband created a platform to give updates on his sister’s health condition, as well as encourage others to post stories and find ways that they can help: https://makemestronger.com/.
This site and all actions that he is doing for his sister and others that need a match and support will, with no doubt in my mind, create the impetus for change that will encourage more people to register within the Bone Marrow Registry.
We will find a match for our sister and for others in need. We will find new alternatives and solutions. We will be together when everything we hope will be just as it should be.
We will push forward.
